We Found a Rainbow

“Put those colors on girl, come and paint the world with me tonight.”

One of my favorite songs on Kesha’s new album is Rainbow. It’s all about finding the colors in the darkness and finding happiness after things have been hard.

My favorite line is, “This kitty cat lost her mind, been looking for a star sent sign that I’ll be alright, look to the skies.”

Don’t get me wrong, I am not a very religious person.

But even I can’t deny that there is something out there watching over us all. Sometimes there’s just an undeniable energy surrounding me that even I can’t ignore. Lately that energy has been sending me nothing but positive vibes.

I find myself singing randomly often, or wanting to actually get out of the house and do things. I can imagine a future, which was something I struggled with before.

Kesha’s Rainbow helped me with that.

Recently I did a little photo shoot with my sister Kimberly and I really wanted to use my new prism! I have no idea how to really use it, but I specifically brought it to practice. It was super hard to get right, but when I held it up just right, it created an amazing rainbow over her eye.

And I felt that sensation all over again.

That energy was around me and telling me that everything was going to be okay.

And I know that I’m still fucked up
But aren’t we all, my love?
Darling, our scars make us who we are, are
So when the winds are howling strong
And you think you can’t go on, hold tight, sweetheart

We are all looking for our rainbow.

Looking for signs that the hardships are truly temporary and that life will get better. My signs came in the form of music and a photography prism. So if you are having a hard time, I would look for your signs anywhere. They can come at any time, within anything.

“Come and paint the world with me tonight.”

    1. Praying makes me cry every single time I listen to it. Makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up! Such a powerful song, and you can hear all of the emotion in her voice! She is such a strong woman!
